Brunilda, optimized and remastered.

Date 06:00 - 03/05/2014 by Metalbrain

While preparing the Special Edition of Brunilda for RetroMadrid, we thought it would be cool to improve that version over the already published one.

Metalbrain got to work and, as only he knows, optimized the screen drawing routines to the limit, making the scroll way smoother everywhere in the game.

On the other hand, Wyz took the game music and moved, touched, remixed and modified everything necessary to extract the best possible sound from his own player.

Two tiny bugs were also fixed: a colour changing mushroom and an out of place apparition by Brunilda.

And finally, a pair of english mistakes were fixed, and then AugustoRuiz reviewed the whole translation to make it sound more natural.

Today, a week after the party, we put this "remastered" version at everyone's disposition. You may download it from the game's card. Do it, it's really worth it.

The Charm / The Chard (M.I.A.)

Date 01:00 - 25/04/2014 by pagantipaco

We would like to present a new and old game... well, we are not crazy, it is really just like that!

Around 1991, our friends Acme and Mikomedes wrote a game for the Spectrum which got lost in the sands of time, until, just a year ago, they recovered it and made it work.

As time passes by for everyone and everything, they also decided to create a new version, updating most of the aspects of the game by using the new tools for programming Spectrum games, and taking advantage of the 128K models. So that is how 2 new games in 1 were born here at Retroworks:

  • The Chard (MIA 1991)
  • The Charm (2014)

«Long time ago, where the sun softly raised above the leafy forests and the day just counted a few hours. In misty, shadowy lands. Our hero, who can now be mentioned as such, whose name was then strange, Sir Oup, hanged on a gate that gave entrace to King Chardy's castle. The king had requested his presence...»

If you want to know more about the story, go to the game card... Oh! And it will be available to buy in cassette format, with a really nice cardboard box, at Retromadrid 2014!

Brunilda's Bugfixing

Date 01:00 - 01/01/2014 by Benway

We're still impressed by the reception given to our "Brunilda" (thank you very much, guys!), and have been working to solve a couple of bugs found after game release.

The bugs fixed from the version originally published, are the following:

  • Tile corruption in caves (only present in TZX files, not the TAP ones).
  • A place at the village that allowed our companion to block our way.
  • Memory corruption when songs were unpacked.

And we also added a package with complete source code.

JINJ 2 - BELMONTE'S REVENGE

Date 23:35 - 01/02/2012 by sejuan

The history starts right after you got your memory back in your previous adventure. That scroll you found turned out to be a music score containging the beats of what seemed to be a brief melody. The dim light in the hall didn't let you see which melody was it; so you lighted up a candle and held it near the scroll.

Want to help our intrepid adventurous again?

The download is available at its card

Date 00:20 - 21/10/2010 by Metalbrain

...but now he can read the keyboard in a more proper way, so it shouldn't have any more problems with russian models. Thanks to Shiru and Jerri/AF for mentioning the problem. Also, the key to end game has been moved from M to G, because the old location was too close to the action key. Thanks jevilon for the warning.

That's all folks, now just go to the card and download again if you think the changes are worth it.

Since the release of Gommy, medieval defender, some problems have been detected, and Pagantipaco has been working hard to fix them. So here we present you an update version so you can download and play it without fear of crashes or strange effects. What's new:

- A fire colliding with a shielded enemy won't crash the game.
- Fire thrower counters now work.
- Fires now burn the wall, and may open new ways for the enemies to go up.
- Water falls down, unaffected by obstacles that may deviate or break the rocks.

Special thanks to Gandulf, Jumping Stack and Shadow Maker for telling us about the problems.
